On August 6, 2025, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi attended the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Bolivia's independence, during which he met with Bolivian President Luis Arce.

Qiu Xiaoqi congratulated President Luis Arce on the 200th anniversary of Bolivia's independence, stating that in recent years, China-Bolivia relations have maintained a good momentum of development. Not long ago, the two heads of state exchanged congratulatory messages on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bolivia, opening a new chapter in China-Bolivia friendship. Both sides should steadily steer the general course of political mutual trust, win-win cooperation, and multilateral coordination, continuously enrich the China-Bolivia strategic partnership, and better benefit the people of both countries.

Luis Arce expressed gratitude for China's long-term support for Bolivia's economic and social development, helping Bolivia improve people's livelihoods and respond to natural disasters. He expressed willingness to continue the traditional friendship with China, deepen cooperation in infrastructure, mining, economy and trade, education, media and other fields, and work for greater development of bilateral relations.

The celebration event was held in Sucre, the constitutional capital of Bolivia.
