On July 25, over 80 teachers and students from the German Chinese Choir of Burg visited the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Ministry of Education. Liu Jianqing, Deputy Director-General of the CLEC, and Petra Schnell-Klöppel, Honorary Chairperson of the Choir, attended the welcome ceremony and delivered speeches.

Liu Jianqing stated in his speech that in the past decade since its founding, the Choir, as a new generation of ambassadors for China-Germany friendship, has worked with "Sing & Learn Chinese" as the bond, conveyed the beauty of Chinese language with singing, and built a bridge for communication through music. Honorary Chairperson Petra Schnell-Klöppel stated that linguistic exchange and youth interaction are crucial for mutual understanding, and that she will introduce more young Germans to China in the future.

At the welcome ceremony, choir members Lilly and Jan successively shared their experiences of learning Chinese language through singing Chinese songs in the Choir. The Choir then collectively performed songs such as Mom's Cooking, Let's Paddle with Twin Oars and Torch Festival in July in Chinese.

Founded in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany in 2014, the Chinese Choir of Burg teaches local teenagers Chinese by singing Chinese songs. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Europe, the Choir visited Yunnan and Beijing from July 15 to 28, supported by the "Chinese Bridge" Summer Camp of the CLEC.
