On June 17, Ambassador Qi Mei attended the 34th China Business Club Symposium in Salzburg ‌at the invitation and delivered‌ a keynote speech. ‌Haslauer, Governor of Salzburg State, and Eisl, the former Deputy Governor and China Affairs Envoy, attended and addressed the event.‌

Ambassador Qi Mei pointed out that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union, and next year will witness the 55th anniversary of ‌China-Austria diplomatic relations‌. China attaches great importance to its traditional friendship with Austria. The pragmatic cooperation between the two countries in various fields has achieved fruitful results. China welcomes people from all walks of life in Austria to take full advantage of the visa-free policy, visit China frequently, and share the opportunities brought by ‌China’s opening-up‌.

Governor Haslauer stated that China is an important partner for Austria and ‌Europe‌. ‌Salzburg State places great emphasis on cooperation with China, having established friendly province-state relations with Heilongjiang and Hainan provinces, while the city of Salzburg maintains sister-city ties with Shanghai‌. Salzburg State is willing to collaborate with China to promote the continuous development of pragmatic cooperation in various fields.
