The 24th meeting of the Subcommittee on Educational Cooperation of the China–Russia Committee on Humanities Cooperation was held in Kazan, Russia on June 12. The meeting was jointly chaired by Chinese Vice Minister of Education Chen Jie and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Afanasiev, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education.

The two sides recalled the latest developments in Sino-Russian educational cooperation. They discussed a variety of issues, including the implementation of education-related content in the Roadmap for China–Russia Humanities Cooperation by 2030, the implementation of new agreements on cooperation in basic research between higher education institutions in the two countries, the development of flagship cooperation projects, and the enhancement of cooperation in areas such as student exchange, higher education, basic education, vocational education, language education, and multilateral education. They also exchanged views on preparation for the next meeting of the subcommittee.

During his stay in Russia, Chen also visited Kazan Federal University.

Xiang Bo, Consul General of China in Kazan, and Cao Shihai, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of China in Russia, were present during Chen's visit to Russia.
