Vice Minister of Education Chen Jie recently met with Joybrato Mukherjee, President of DAAD, the German Academic Exchange Service, in Beijing.

Chen first congratulated DAAD on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of its Beijing office. He said DAAD serves as an important bridge for facilitating academic cooperation between China and Germany. He added that it also plays an active role in boosting technological innovation and talent cultivation. He said that the Ministry of Education (MOE) would continue to support DAAD’s efforts in promoting Sino-German educational cooperation, especially cooperation among top universities in the two countries.

Mukherjee thanked the MOE for its support of DAAD. He expressed hope that both sides would work together to expand areas for cooperation. He also said that he is looking forward to DAAD conducting high-quality cooperation with universities in China.
