On August 27, 2024, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee, met with a delegation of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) led by Bundestag Group Chairman Mitzenich in Beijing.

Wang Yi said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of all-round strategic partnership between China and Germany. President Xi Jinping met with Chancellor Scholz in April to steer the development of bilateral relations.China is ready to work with Germany to strengthen party-to-party exchanges, consolidate strategic mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, push for steady and enduring China-Germany and China-Eu relations, and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind.

Mitzenich said Germany attaches great importance to relations with China and appreciates China's tremendous development achievements. The German Social Democratic Party is willing to continue cooperation and dialogue with the Communist Party of China.
