All applicants to the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) are required to participate in the general domestic applicant procedure. If you have questions, please email info[at]aps.org.cn.
The general domestic applicant procedure applies to all students who are in China and plan to study in Germany or China on an individual basis. Before applying to a German university, students must pass the authenticity review of the academic qualifications materials by the audit department and participate in an interview or the TestAS. After the applicant successfully passes the material review and test, the digital signature review certificate (DigZert) can be downloaded from the APS personal account and used to apply to German universities. Generally, applicants in China can also submit visa application materials directly by the audit department.
Please note that once the interview application is accepted, it cannot be transferred to other review procedures.
Chinese undergraduate students, eligible for direct admission in Germany and have not yet started their seventh semester (four-year undergraduate) or ninth semester (five-year undergraduate) courses, who want to apply for bachelor's degree programs in German universities should submit their materials to the audit department, and then take the TestAS without attending an interview. Others must attend an interview.
Application Steps:
1. Online Registration
Applicants are required to register on the audit department website. After filling in necessary information such as personal information, educational background and language level, the applicant will receive a confirmation email with their application procedure, registration number and user name. You can log in to the website according to the username and password set during registration and download the "Registration Certificate" in PDF format. (It is recommended that you first read the contents of the "Online Registration" of the " FAQ ")
2. Audit Fee Remittance
Applicants who participate in the audit interview must pay RMB 2,500, which does not include visa fees. Fees must be remitted to the audit department account via bank. Submissions must include a copy of the remittance order. The materials will not enter the processing program until the fees are paid. For security, please do not include cash in the submitted materials.
3. Mailing Materials
Printing out the "Registration Certificate" in PDF format, applicants need to fill it out completely (remittance information and signature), and attach an identification photo then mail it to the audit department with other relevant materials. If the photo is so embellished that the examiner cannot confirm that the candidate and the applicant are the same person before the interview, the examiner has the right to cancel the interview and determine that the applicant submitted false materials.
Please note: Submitted materials will be archived by the audit department and will not be returned.
After successful registration and receipt of application materials, the audit department will check whether the applicant meets the admission qualifications for German universities and determines whether the applicant must take the TestAS or attend an review interview.
Graduates of three-year college students, undergraduate students who have completed more semesters (more than 6 semesters), and postgraduates will participate in the review interview. Applying for undergraduate degree programs at German universities, all undergraduate students with direct admission to German universities and not completed 7 semesters need to take the TestAS.
The audit department will archive the review materials submitted by the applicant within a limited time. For those who pass the review, their application materials will be retained for 3 years from the date of successfully passing the review, then will be destroyed thereafter. For those who fail to pass the review, their application materials will be retained for 5 years from the date of last review and then destroyed.
4. From the cooperative project group review process to the general domestic applicant process
Applicants who have not obtained a German university degree (undergraduate, master's degree) need to submit two materials: First, a certificate issued by a German university, including the start and end time of the project and the reasons for its termination. The second is a cancellation certificate from the local immigration bureau.
Applicants can apply by mail, letter, express, or fax. After APS review, they will be transferred to the general domestic applicant process as appropriate.
After the transfer, applicants don’t need to register again, but they need to remit money and submit materials according to the procedural requirements for general domestic applicants.
Applicants who have obtained a German university degree (undergraduate, master's degree) in exchange and cooperation projects do not need to participate in the APS general domestic applicant procedure if they wish to continue studying in Germany. They can apply directly to German universities. According to German regulations, students in Germany can only apply for transfer after obtaining the corresponding graduation degree or completing the exchange program.
